Golfers over 50
Stay strong. Keep your distance.
From middle age we lose a little muscle every year unless we train it, and that is often where distance and stability go. Twenty minutes a week, with no heavy weights, is a realistic way to hold on to it.
Why it matters
Why it matters
Muscle fades without training
Less muscle means less power to drive the swing and less support for your back. Strength training is the proven way to slow that down.
Easy on your joints
No barbells, no impact, no jumping. Gerard sets the impulse for each muscle group to what your body can handle that day.
Short and supervised
Twenty minutes, one-to-one, with Gerard beside you the whole time. He is in his sixties and still trains with EMS himself.
How EMS helps
What you get
- Works your legs, glutes, core and back together in one session
- Builds strength without loading your joints with heavy weights
- The golf study included men up to 70, training once a week
- Helps you hold your posture from the first tee to the 18th green
The honest part
The golf study measured strength and muscle, not distance or handicap. Stronger muscles give you the body to swing well; your technique still matters. We go through a health check with you before your first session.
How a session works
Twenty minutes. Every muscle.
Free chat and health check
We go through your game, your goals and a short health questionnaire so we know EMS is safe for you.
Suit up
No heavy weights, no machines. You change into the miha suit and the wireless MOVE unit clips on.
20 minutes of golf moves
Squats, lunges, hip hinges and rotations, all with the impulse. Gerard sets and watches every one.
48 hours to recover
Your muscles rebuild over the next two days. Then you play, practise, and come back next week.
Questions
Good to know
Am I too old for EMS?
Age alone is not the issue; your health is. The golf study included men up to 70, and Gerard is in his sixties. We go through a health questionnaire with you first, and some conditions rule EMS out, such as a pacemaker.
Will it be too intense for me?
No. Gerard sets the intensity for each muscle group and starts gently. You tell him how it feels and he adjusts as you go. Expect to feel your muscles for a day or two afterwards.
