Menopause support

Stay strong through menopause

Around menopause, falling hormone levels make it easier to lose muscle and gain fat around the middle. Strength training is one of the best ways to push back, and EMS does it in 20 minutes with no heavy weights.

Why it matters

Why it matters

Muscle loss speeds up

Changing hormones make muscle harder to keep. Regular strength training helps you hold on to it.

Kind to your joints

No barbells and no impact. The intensity is set for each muscle group to suit you.

Private and one-to-one

Just you and Gerard in the studio, with every session set around how you feel that day.

How EMS helps

What you get

  • Works your legs, glutes, core, back and arms together
  • Research in women after menopause found EMS increased muscle and strength
  • Twenty minutes, once or twice a week
  • InBody scans to track muscle and fat

Important

EMS is exercise, not a treatment for menopause symptoms. For symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep problems or bone health, talk to your GP. We go through a health questionnaire with you before your first session.

How a session works

Twenty minutes. Every muscle.

  1. Free chat and health check

We go through your game, your goals and a short health questionnaire so we know EMS is safe for you.

  2. Suit up

No heavy weights, no machines. You change into the miha suit and the wireless MOVE unit clips on.

  3. 20 minutes of golf moves

Squats, lunges, hip hinges and rotations, all with the impulse. Gerard sets and watches every one.

  4. 48 hours to recover

Your muscles rebuild over the next two days. Then you play, practise, and come back next week.

Questions

Good to know

Will EMS help my menopause symptoms?

EMS is a strength workout, so its benefits are about muscle and strength. Many women say they feel better for training regularly, but for symptoms themselves your GP is the right person to see.

Is it too intense?

No. Gerard starts gently and sets the intensity for each muscle group. You tell him how it feels and he adjusts it as you go.
