The basics
What the scan shows
You stand barefoot on the InBody 270 and hold the handles for a few seconds. It sends a tiny, painless current through your body and works out how much of you is muscle, fat and water.
You get a printed results sheet that shows your muscle and fat for your arms, legs and trunk separately. That makes it easy to see if one side is stronger than the other, and gives you a real starting point to measure progress against, rather than just your weight on a scale.

Don't eat or exercise for a couple of hours beforehand, and use the toilet first.

Good to know
How long does it take?
Well under a minute on the machine. You get your printed sheet straight away.
Can I feel anything?
No. The current is tiny and you won't feel it.
Who shouldn't have a scan?
Anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, and it is best avoided during pregnancy.
