Swing speed and power

More power from the ground up

Clubhead speed is built in the legs and glutes and passed up through the core to the club. EMS switches all of those muscles on together, so you train the whole chain, not one muscle at a time.

Why it matters

Why it matters

Legs and glutes start it

The downswing starts from the ground. Stronger hips and legs give you more to push with.

Your core passes it on

A strong trunk transfers that power to your arms and the club instead of leaking it out of the swing.

Proven strength gains

In a study of 54 amateur golfers, once-weekly EMS clearly increased trunk, hip and leg strength.

How EMS helps

What you get

  • Trains the full chain from your feet to your shoulders in one session
  • Golf-based moves: squats, lunges, hip hinges and rotations
  • Twenty minutes, once a week, the same as the golf study
  • Leaves more time for the range and the course

The honest part

The golf study measured strength, not distance. Speed comes from a stronger body plus good technique. Some testing in the US reported gains in swing speed, but that was not a controlled study.

How a session works

Twenty minutes. Every muscle.

  1. Free chat and health check

We go through your game, your goals and a short health questionnaire so we know EMS is safe for you.

  2. Suit up

No heavy weights, no machines. You change into the miha suit and the wireless MOVE unit clips on.

  3. 20 minutes of golf moves

Squats, lunges, hip hinges and rotations, all with the impulse. Gerard sets and watches every one.

  4. 48 hours to recover

Your muscles rebuild over the next two days. Then you play, practise, and come back next week.

Questions

Good to know

Will EMS add distance to my drives?

It depends on you. The published golf study measured strength, not distance, and golfers' trunk and leg strength went up significantly. Speed comes from a stronger body plus good technique.

Should I still practise?

Yes. EMS builds the body; your practice and your pro build the swing. Leave about 48 hours between a session and a big round.
